People are not complaining about farming, they're complaining about complainers...

Oh, the irony..

I think people should stop complaining that farming has been nerfed and just play the game normally. I'm almost L20 and I'm only just past Divinty Coast, I know I still have a ways to go before I finish the actual story PLUS I know that after that there will still be leftover quests to do and more, new content added later.

People, have a little more faith in ANet. Farming was nerfed for balance. They've said since before the game was released that it would be skill based, not time-played based. If people just go out and farm to get everything then it becomes time-played based. ANet wants the game to be about having fun, not about spending countless hours going back and forth between areas trying to get items while fighting the same mobs over and over again. I'm sorry if you people think that's fun, but I sure don't. I'd rather continue with the story.

If ANet sees a problem with the way the game is working, they'll fix it. I've played MUCH worse games than Guild Wars, and I definitely don't plan on quitting any time soon. A game where the developers actually fix the problems in their game? Yeah, that sounds good to me.

Thats very naive. When all players who like dont care about pvp leave the game than Arenanet has a big problem on continuing to devellope expansion sets. Pve players are a huge part of the gaming community. Without them this game has no future

OMG - farming is still possible - you can still sell runes to the PLAYERS - just give them reasonable offers.
You can still unlock stuff by farming, the drop rates on the items were SIGNIFICANTLY increased - I'm finding runes ALL the time. On missions, on quests, during exploring.
I don't see your point.
And skill capturing was sooooooo diffictult before the update - wasn't it? Come down pple - it was just annoying. Kill all the monsters around boss, wait for boss to use a certain skill - that's all. The hard part was e.g. explaining random goups on missions that they SHOULDN'T kill a certain boss, which they always did. It was a pure waste of time and didn't have ANYTHING to do with skill.
I love those complainers! 5% of the pple are upset by the updates and 95% are pleased even more - who cares? It's just the same as with CS updates. There were ALWAYS pple threatening to leae the game and still the game is as popular as ever. Pure coincidence?

If you want to farm I got some great land in Northern Maine you can farm. Oh wait you were talking about farming in a video game for fake money and fake items you can't use in real life. my bad.

In all seriousness, this is just a game. Not sure why people get all uppity about a game. Every MMO I played there are always some people that will never be happy at all. If you are not happy then don't play it. Games are supposed to be fun. This game was not meant for you to play as a job.

Yeah, farming has been nerfed even more. River Mantle now have a caster with them, Jade Scarabs have enchantment removal, and so on. Oh well :P

If you don't like the game, then don't play it. It's not too difficult a concept.

True, but why a PvE player would farm for runes and gold when all it is actually doing is shortening the PvE game length is beyond me. I can understand PvP players wanting to do it, as they want the gear to " be competative ".

As with the material trader, you get more money out of selling your runes to the rune trader than to the merchant. Merchant will give you 25g for runes. Rune trader will giver you more.

For those not familiar with the material trader: Same idea. You can sell your pile of 25 X (insert some crafting material here like iron ignots) at the merchant for 50 gold or sell 10 of that material for 35gold at the material trader. Which would you rather have? 25 pieces giving you 50 gold? or 70 gold from the material trader for selling 20 pieces?

PS. I really dont care for the Rune Trader. It takes out part of the fun of the game.

But your still going to end up playing a game for hours on end with the same objective where there is no progression OR reward for playing.

=\

No I think you missed the point I think they were complaining about idiots complaining about farming.

Farming....let me ask those that say they get no drops, Who are you playing with?

Are you in a Guild that parties and missions together in order to pick up EVERY drop and share amongst eachother so that the good stuff goes to the people that need it?

or Do you solo, NO henchies just YOU so that any drops and or gold goes right into your pocket?

or Do you group with henchies and SPLIT all drops and gold with them?

We as a Guild ALWAYS mission or quest together that way ALL drops get taken by us Humans, this way we always get the Blue, Purple and Gold items and we have NEVER come away empty handed. This game IS and I hope always will be TEAM based and the rewards reflect that.

It's better than having some players in the group hang back on taking down a boss because they want to pick up a skill. I can be sure if you were lying face down after being slain by Boss Zuggnugget when the 2 Monks in the party were busy waiting for a good capture rather than heal you, you would see it different.

i think the main solution to farming solo is not to give the henchmen the gold you get. Instead pay the henchman a small fee (gets more as you progress) before you go out then you get all the gold that you find etc

I agree. I think they introduced this new way, because people were joining quests or missions, getting their elites.. then sodding off.
It's seems worse one way.. (off a dead boss is NOT fun) but good in another way (means those leeches have to stay till the end of the fight).

Perhaps to livin things up a bit, when a boss dies it has a 3 second dramatic fall to the ground lol. That way, you can only capture an elite ONCE the boss is dead, but before it hits the ground.. or something *__*
